At the same moment, back at the villa, Lara stood in front of Baher with a calm smile. “Eliana’s starting to cross the line.”
“Baher was focused on his work files, then?”
Lara moved closer and said in an innocent tone, meddling in everything, even the office.
Baher finally looked up.
Lara continued, “I’m afraid she’s here for another reason.”
But what Lara didn’t know was that for the first time in months, Baher had seen his son smile.
And for the first time, he was starting to suspect something. As for Eliana, she was rushing back to the villa, the lab results file in her bag.
But as soon as she reached the gate, the guard stopped her nervously. “Sorry, Miss Baher Bey, he ordered no one to enter.”
Eliana was shocked. “What?!”
The guard swallowed hard and said, “If you come back, they’ll take any papers you have immediately.”
At that moment, Eliana understood that Lara had gotten there first.
And that the game had entered a much more dangerous phase.
But what no one was prepared for was that Ryan himself would reveal a secret that night, a secret that would turn the whole house upside down.
Eliana stood in front of the villa gate, the light rain falling on her hair, her heart pounding.
The guard was nervous, clearly more afraid than she was.
He reached for the bag. “Yes, ma’am. I have to take any papers you have.”
Eliana clutched the bag to her chest. “If I take those papers, the baby inside will die.” The sentence came out so sharply that the guard froze.
At that moment, the headlights of a black car appeared in the distance.
Baher’s car.
It stopped abruptly in front of the gate.
Baher got out quickly, his face contorted with anger and tension. “What’s wrong?”
The guard was flustered. “Madam Lara said, ‘I asked you what’s wrong!'”
Eliana looked at him steadily and pulled out the lab report. “Your son isn’t sick, Mr. Baher.”
The air itself seemed to stop.
Baher approached her slowly. “What do you mean?”
