Baking soda acts as a natural weed killer, changing the pH around plant roots and drawing moisture from their tissues. This method is especially effective for killing weeds growing in the cracks of sidewalks, driveways, and patios.
Application: Sprinkle baking soda liberally directly onto weeds and surrounding soil. For best results, apply on a sunny day when rain is not expected for at least 24 hours. The baking soda will gradually draw moisture from the plant, causing it to wilt and die within a week.
Best for: Killing small weeds on paved surfaces, driveways, and sidewalks where you don’t want plants to grow.

Salt method
Salt is one of the most powerful natural herbicides. It works by drying out plants and making the soil unsuitable for further growth. However, be extremely careful as it can sterilize the soil for a long time.
Preparation: In a saucepan, combine 500 ml of water with 250 ml of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir until the salt is completely dissolved.
How to use: Pour the hot salt solution directly onto the still warm weeds. The combination of heat and salt will attack the plant immediately, and the salt will prevent regrowth.

Important warning: Salt should only be applied to areas where you do not want plants to re-grow, such as driveways or sidewalks. Salt can remain in the soil for years and can kill plants that try to grow in the treated areas.
